Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today, we are going to look at another training video from Affilorama’s Mark Ling all about how we can assess niche competition.
If you don’t know what Affilorama is, it is the largest affiliate marketing community and training website on the internet. Amazingly, it is also completely free to join! If you are in a hurry and would like to read about Affilorama in more detail, just click on this link and sign up!
Today we are looking at a question that was sent in by Johnny. His question is a very good one. As usual, I have written an overview of the video below.
There are so many very established websites on the internet for niches like health, muscle building, fitness, and so on, that he wonders if it is possible build a profitable website based on one of these niches considering how competitive their long tail keywords are and how many backlinks these established websites have.
Mark tells us that it is possible to compete in long tail keywords even against these sites with a lot of authority, except in exceptional circumstances. The important thing to do is assess niche competition.
We are told that any site that has less than 100 backlinks can be beaten on long tail keywords. Of course, it would take a little time. It would also be necessary to sign up to a service that would help with article marketing and content creation.
Mark mentions two sites to look at. The first one seems to have gone out of business but the second one, ‘Unique Article Wizard’ seems to be going strong. Mind you, I had a quick look at it. It’s not a cheap service, I can tell you that for nothing. So, I’m not sure how realistic it would be for new affiliate marketers to use.
How to Assess Niche Competition
Mark also recommends ‘Traffic Travis’ he uses to assess niche competition, which is a software program I used to use many moons ago. In fact, I had completely forgotten about. Checking it out again now, I realized that they have improved the program a lot. It is definitely worth checking out; especially, if you want to give your website a health check. It even has a free version, which is pretty good in itself.
One of Traffic Travis’ real strengths is its keyword research tool. Again you can use the free version to see how it works and upgrade to the professional version if you like it. It is quite pricey at just under $100 for 12 months but it is very useful to assess niche competition. However, it may need to be one of those programs that goes in the ‘What to ask Santa for Christmas’ list.
Affilorama Free Training Program
Having watched this video, I am reminded why I like running this website. This was another video where I either learn something new, or I was told something I knew but had forgotten.
It’s also one of the reasons I love watching these training videos. Not necessarily because I need to learn something new (even though I normally do). No, it’s because I often get reintroduced to programs that I used to use but had stopped using for whatever reason.
And of course, this is the reason why I promote Affilorama so much. Because there is so much of this kind of training concerning things like ‘How to assess niche competition’, and it’s 100% free! How crazy is that?
You can join Affilorama for free and get loads more training inside. In fact, there’s more free training in Affilorama than in many other affiliate marketing training programs which you actually have to pay for. It really is great that Affilorama gives so much away for free.
